The latest statistics from Airlines for America, the leading airline trade group, show the top ten airlines reporting full-year results for 2012 made a combined profit of $152 million or just US$0.21 for each passenger carried. On revenue of $143.4 billion, that works out to a profit margin around 0.1%. Airlines struggling with fuel costs and taxes are already reducing their overheads and operating various initiatives to increase their revenues such as new forms of baggage fees, in-flight internet, meal upgrades and pre-seating as well as external services such as rental cars and accommodation, ground transportation etc. However this usually involves significant investment in and management of systems revolving around the purchase path. Yet most airlines are missing out on a simple solution that is complementary to its current customer communications and will enhance customer satisfaction. The best thing about this solution is that it is a low or zero cost solution: it requires no change to existing RES and DCSs, be up and running in 15 days, and can generate significant additional revenue without the passenger or the airline paying a penny. This simple solution is the creation of iDOX that enable airlines to communicate with customers delivering customised, personalised, travel documentation with targeted marketing messages to passengers. iDOX’s CEO, Mark Scott says “Airlines are obliged to provide confirmation documentation, reminder information and boarding passes to all their passengers. The communications are not SPAM so are welcome by the customer.” Scott continues, ”We have been providing this service to airlines for nearly 7 years and eCommerce customers for two years prior to that. Our proven solutions deliver satisfaction across all airline customer communications from one engine, interfacing with external campaign management where appropriate. By combining dynamic targeted marketing messages to their passengers, airlines turn passive documents into an active method of promoting internal and external offers to generate additional revenue. This improves and enhances customer satisfaction at no cost to the airline or the passenger. It is a win-win solution”. iDOX survey confirms travel industry professionals reject “accepted”
on-path purchasing behaviour

San Diego, 26 November 2012 |

securIDOX carried out a study relating to buying habits around flight purchase by individuals working in the travel and travel related industry. Interestingly the study revealed that while purchasing flights, virtually all of these individuals, ignored all offers made to them by airline reservation and ancillary revenue systems. This was the case unless they made travel arrangements for bundled offerings through the likes of Opodo, Lastminute.com, expedia etc. Some of the reasons stated were that they have done their own independent research which shows what they already knew or suspected. In many cases “special offers” are in fact available at lower prices directly from hotel and rental companies and the airline linked sites don’t offer the variety available by independent organizations. In other cases fellow professionals have shared their own preferred sites for better value deals. It is clear the general buying public will come to the same conclusion. Mark Scott CEO at securiDOX says ”What happens is that the individuals have a number of preferred sites they use to obtain best deals for hotels, rental cars, insurance etc and they avoid airline offers made at time of purchase. Immediately the flight transaction is completed they fire up their favourite sites and purchase all other components separately. This is one of the reasons the big three Hotels, Rentals and insurance ancillary revenue have fallen off a cliff as the general traveller uses the internet to research pricing.” Scott continues “This survey supports securiDOX’s gut feeling about the activity and different buying patterns of airline customers. It also increases pressure in on-path suppliers to generate additional revenues from huge airline investment in implementing and maintaining their systems. When Glenn Fogel of Priceline suggests that dynamic packaging has not taken off and companies like IdeaWorks have modified their definitions to include off-path sources, this is time to look into innovative use of proven technologies to generate revenues. The great news is that iDOX does not require either or decision but can work with existing dynamic targeting systems. The survey is ongoing and is now open to the public at http://securidox.com/ls/index.php/survey/index/sid/697534

Mark Scott, CEO of iDOX, is proud to announce the change in the trading name from Securidox to iDOX as of today. This will be carried out on the company’s website, marketing literature and future communications The name change has been carried out to better reflect the nature of the business that iDOX is involved – Communicating with Customers through the delivery of intelligent, integrated documents online and to mobile devices. Scott said, “In the past, discussions have led a number of prospective customers to confuse Securidox with the secure delivery of physical documents rather than intelligent, integrated internet delivery. Unlike physical documents, iDOX records every click and interaction that takes place with every document to enhance customer satisfaction and report back to the client.” Scott goes on to say, “The realignment of the name will help potential customers more easily recognize that iDOX is involved in intelligent document delivery”. ie documents, such as confirmations, itineraries, follow-up and reminder emails as well as Print-at-Home™ and mobile boarding passes. All documents are integrated with detailed customer data/metrics delivered over electronic media, being internet or mobile services, to deliver dynamically Targeted Adverting in Documents(TAD). “I look forward to working with current and future clients to assist them in gaining significant Ancillary Revenues by utilising the space on these mandatory documents. We set up our TAD service in 2004 and over the time since we have had agencies such as INK selling dynamically targeted advertising on documents we delivered on behalf of our clients. Our service is arranged so that we can interface with all main add serving companies’ back ends and seamlessly maintain existing or new client/agency arrangements.” For those people attending the Airline Information’s Mega Event conference in San Diego on 27 November, please drop by the iDOX stand to explore how iDOX may be of value in easily and quickly building one of the new Ancillary Revenue streams as defined by IdeaWorks in 2010. Generating Ancillary Revenues and satisfying customers on mobile devices – securiDOX launches Android App
|
London, 17th September 2012 |
|
securiDOX is excited to announce the release of its Android App for airline confirmations and boarding passes. The relevant data is stored on the App so that the device needn’t have internet access for delivery of the Aztec barcode at check-in for scanning. Often the airports or airlines don’t have high speed internet connection at every gate for downloading passes. The App also ensures that the image and details for seat allocation are carried onboard the aircraft in in-flight mode. Integration with securiDOX’s demo system is complete and has been fully tested. Integration to other systems is a simple matter and experience is already held with Amadeus. The boarding pass documents are archived and kept on the device after the scheduled departure time. This means that departed flights are removed from the flight list but are retrievable for 8 hours in case of delays. For passenger satisfaction the next segment of a multi leg journey will appear automatically at the top of the list. Mark Scott, securiDOX CEO says that “This new development saves airlines and airports having to have Internet access at the gates, and saves traveler anxiety over boarding pass availability at the gate. More importantly it makes the journey more relaxed as documents are simply available in the natural order they will be used. We used our experience of international travel and knowledge from working with the Qantas to perfect the App”. Scott continues, ”In planning for this App we needed to make sure our dynamic targeting of messages to generate Ancillary Revenue was incorporated and we have achieved that seamlessly. The airline and customer benefit from fantastic relevant offers being delivered on the move which can be actioned by touching the mobile screen.” From its mobile pass delivery experience securiDOX acknowledges that Apple is currently the most used system but Android use, specifically for travel, has doubled in the last year. The Apple App will be developed and released in conjunction with the release of IOS6 later in 2012. It will use the features of Passbook as well as in-house developed functionality to deliver the same customer satisfaction and ancillary revenue opportunities.

securiDOX CONFIRMS ATTENDANCE AT THE LOW COST AIRLINES CONGRESS IN LONDON ON 17 - 19 SEPTEMBER 2012

London, 23rd August 2012 |

securiDOX, the Online Document Delivery company, confirms that it will be attending the Low Cost Airlines Congress in London on September 17 – 19th. Having met a number of the attendees from last year’s conference, Mark Scott, CEO, says that “securiDOX’s Ancillary Revenue solution for Print-at-Home and mobile device eTickets and boarding passes is a perfect match for the innovative companies that operate within the Low Cost Airlines arena”. Scott goes on to say that “These airlines are extremely dynamic with a focus on cost effective solutions for customer satisfaction which is ideally served by the securiDOX solution that is quick to install and extremely cost effective as it easily integrates with all airline RES and DCS systems. Companies won’t have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and wait for months, or even years, until this Ancillary Revenue solution is reaches the to the front of the IT resource queue. They can have it now!” The securiDOX Ancillary Revenue solution allows airlines to access a revenue stream that is generated through the everyday mechanisms of ticket confirmations and boarding passes by monetizing space on them.” securiDOX’s solution targets opportunities which are not on the already advertising and offer overloaded, ticket purchase path. Counter intuitively, being off the purchase path is the most effective way to generate Ancillary Revenue. It has been proven that messages with targeting based on information such as gender, location, destination, class of travel, etc delivered after purchase, is 20 times more effective than offers inserted at time of purchase. Amazingly, it is proven to be 30 times as effective as a generic web page ad. Companies interface with the Advertising side of the securiDOX Engine via a secure web portal which can have targeted promotions up and running within minutes. Alternatively, a direct interface to any ad-server is available for an Agency’s own accounting and control. Scott is excited to be attending the congress and plans to meet a number of airline executives to discuss how securiDOX can help them meet their ongoing Ancillary Revenue goals.

Right from the start, securiDOX’s proprietary targeted advertising technology and The Content Factory’s expertise in external sales and advertising were synergistic. The strength in this partnering will allow the companies to offer systems that will benefit Airlines, Rail and other companies that deliver tickets or confirmations via email or mobile. Confirmations and tickets can be for other businesses such as Entertainment/Sports venues, eCommerce sites etc. The Content Factory was formed in 2006 and has worked with many brands over the years on marketing communications projects. “Each piece of work we are commissioned for is different and we look forward to using the securiDOX solution to meet the needs of a number of our clients on a bespoke basis” says Giles Morgan, CEO. “securiDOX’s product is a solution that allows us to stay at the forefront of technology and help our customers to deliver targeted advertising dynamically”. securiDOX unveils Manage&Control™ Version 2.2 to deliver three
new message types and generate additional ancillary revenue |
London, 2nd April 2012 |
| securiDOX, the online ancillary revenue delivery specialists have released version 2.2 of Manage&Control™ (M&C) to enables airlines to deliver dynamically targeted messages to three new areas from the one source.
M&C, their proprietary Content and Advertising Management System empowers nontechnical personnel to control the layout and content of documents being delivered. In addition to document templates, airlines can define detailed rules using ‘drop-down’ menus to customize the advertising message for each document type. Manage&Control™ Version 2.2 enables airlines or their advertisers to better communicate with the passenger from an operational point of view. Features: 1) Reminder emails can be delivered at the time a flight’s checkin is opened. The reminder could be for any message. All the targeting of messages functions on this communication is available as in the current eTicket Confirmation and Boarding Passes. Targeting is carried out inhouse by airline staff or external agency and messages can be running immediately. This enables reminders to generate additional ancillary revenue from targeted offers. eg) An airline could deliver advertising for an airport retail outlet based on the airport, flight time, gender, etc. It could be a discount voucher for an early bird traveler’s breakfast, promotion offer for spirits on a long haul flight etc. 2) eTicket passenger communication to target airline special short term offers for future flights. Offers can be made and live within minutes as well as withdrawn just as quickly by revenue promotion staff once the objectives of the offer are met. There is no lengthy pre-planning as with GDS providers, to arrange resources and programming for an offer to be inserted or removed. The relevant Airlines promotions department can, via a web portal, insert the message, and remove it just as easily, with the document being updated immediately. Messages could be for travel offers, new routes, and services etc that are relevant at the purchase time. 3) Mobile and Print-at-Home boarding pass passenger communication enables airlines to insert messages as varied as road repairs to major transport routes, Union action, weather predictions, airport constructions issues etc. These are capable of being inserted by airline staff without reference to DCS systems suppliers Each of these campaigns can be targeted to many different relevant markets which expands the targeting of people specifically travelling from/to different destinations, different gender, class of travel Frequent Flyer programs, families etc. For further information on securiDOX and its solutions visit www.securidox.com Or email Mark Mark.Scott@securiDOX.com |

| 1st March 2012 | Europe much further ahead! |
Europe much further ahead! |
London, 1 March 2012 |
An article from www.zerobaggage.com Modern Technology can resolve the “one-bag battle”. EU airports and retailers are pressing the Brussels Transport Committee for the abolition of the “one-bag carry-on rule” imposed by some airlines. March 27th was the first date for a debate surrounding the Motion proposed by EU Tory MEP Philip Bradbourn, “on the future of regional airports and air services in the EU”. The motion specifically mentions the removal of “the onerous one-bag rule” and the apparent affect on airport retail sales. The thrust of the arguments put forward by the MEP is that the “one-bag rule” imposed on passengers is seriously affecting the retail revenues of European regional airports and hence their ability to acquire enough revenue to reduce landing charges. But, has MEP Bradbourn really studied the retail market in airports and how these revenues are generated at present, or how the business could be conducted and developed in the future? Ivor Smith Founder of web start-up dutyfreeonarrival.com thinks not and he outlines why the MEP has missed an opportunity to resolve this impasse through technology. Smith, a 25 year duty free veteran of selling products Travel Retailers says, “Firstly, duty free shopping in Europe doesn’t exist anymore. Airport and airline retail within the EU is no different to High Street retail, it is tax-paid shopping and unlike real duty free sales, none of these goods need to be exported on aircraft at all”. The EU-Europa website clearly states that duty free was abolished over 10 years ago. So where does the proposed legislation, (designed to protect a business that technically does not exist), leave the airlines if they are forced to accept multiple shopping bags on-board?
Mark Scott CEO of securiDOX, a leading airline technology company who facilitate boarding passes for travel operators agrees, he told us, “We can now deliver secure boarding documents directly to the traveller with a direct QR code or internet web link so they can order a range of goods of their choice, before travelling and for collection on the aircraft or arrival. This technology facilitates extra sales and easy fulfilment which is what the flyer wants these days”. These observations are reinforced by the website argophilia.com quoting a report from web specialists Nucleus; they state that travel website traffic via the mobile web has increased by a staggering 72% in the last six months, to account for a total of 17.4% of all website traffic. Google UK Travel Head, Nigel Huddleston re-stated this huge growth trend at a recent airline ancillary revenue presentation in London. Smith’s final observation was “it is well recognised in the industry that Generation Research of Sweden produce the most comprehensive market statistics for global duty free shopping. In 2011 airports had a 60% share of this market and airlines only 6.8%. So, why would The EU wish to ring-fence the dominant player in this market over and above all the other stakeholders”? Meanwhile, MEP Bradbourn wishes to protect airport retail with legislation, so that all those cheap cigarettes and liquors can be brought back from Southern Europe in the cabin. No doubt the debate will roll on for some time as to which airports will gain from this initiative. Mobile: That's the E-ticket |
London, 14 February 2012 |
Published in TargetMarketingMag.com Many businesses have seen e-ticketing as a way to reduce costs by delivering tickets electronically; whether to email or mobile. In reality, the e-ticket itself can be a direct marketing platform that delivers the ticket, as well as a number of banner ads targeted to the individual customer, based on the information that is held on that customer. Some e-ticketing engines also have the ability to "manage" the banners inserted into those communications.
Mobile phones are becoming more sophisticated with an increasing number of improvements and features, such as:
Hence, companies are also moving toward providing customer communications, such as confirmations and/or e-ticketing, via PDF and on smartphones. The engines that deliver e-tickets also are becoming more sophisticated, with the ability to deliver via email or SMS: PDFs with individualized banner offerings, Aztec codes (a 2D barcode) as boarding passes, QR Codes that hold information and more. A New Revenue Channel This is a key trend in the e-ticketing arena. Many companies are using the confirmation/e-ticket as an opportunity to sell advertising and turn what was a cost into a new revenue stream. This fits conveniently into the purchase cycle, because many people want to finish their primary purchase (e.g., buying an airline ticket to a destination) before looking at other options surrounding that primary purchase (like car hire, accommodation, entertainment, etc.). We've found that post purchase emails containing targeted messages based on information such as gender, location, destination, class of travel, etc. were 20 times more effective than offers inserted at time of purchase and, amazingly, they were 30 times as effective as the Web page tab.

securiDOX voted Runner Up Ancillary Revenue Solution in the Lions Den at the Airline Information Mega Event in Miami |
London, 14 December 2011 |
securiDOX was voted runner up in the Lions Den, a forum for entrepreneurs at the recent Airline Information Mega event held in Miami – despite the five minute presentation being cut short by two minutes. The solution presented was securiDOX’s solution for e-Ticketing, boarding passes (both mobile and Print-at-Home), as well as follow up/reminder emails which can be used for driving Ancillary Revenue. Although the presentation was aimed at Ancillary Revenue in the Airline market the securiDOX Platform is designed to “Drive” Ancillary Revenue as well as being capable of being used for Direct Marketing in terms of “Targeted” Customer Service messages and Cross Selling products and services via PDF or HTML email or to Mobile devices. Director Richard Stokes who recently joined securiDOX from SITA, presented in the conference’s Innovation session and comments “Innovation in business is about new revenues, not just unbundling the old stuff. Many ancillary revenues are just ways to try to retrieve poor yields caused by LCCs and most Innovation is stifled by heavy technology “procedures” within airlines. Dynamic, focused, advertising from securiDOX can generate real new money at up to $1.00 per document” Research by Isango* has proven that post purchase sales are up to 20 times that of options presented during purchase . This means that delivering targeted messages on the Ticket Confirmation and on the e-Tickets drives significant sales.
The airline can sell Banner Ads to companies wishing to target the airlines passengers with targeted messages. Current experience has achieved Ancillary Revenue of over US0.90 per eTicket Confirmation. Targets for messages are any person on whom a company holds data on and would normally have targeted by Direct Mail in the past. To demonstrate what is possible from an integrated platform, securiDOX has set up “AirGo”, a demonstration airline. On it(by web or mobile), you can book a flight, receive confirmation with targeted messages, check-in and receive your boarding pass via email or direct to your mobile. Isango Research Confirms Targeted Messages Inserted into E-ticket Confirmations and Boarding Passes 30 times more effective than web placing |
London, 28 November 2011 |
Isango the destination tours and services specialist supplying amongst others Qantas, German Wings and Ryanair produced research that evaluates the effectiveness of different methods used to communicate offers and deals to passengers. The results of the research confirm that targeted messages inserted into E-tickets post web path are extremely effective. Isango measured effectiveness by the likelihood of passengers making a purchase from a given touch point. The baseline for the study was an offer on a tab placed on the travel company’s website which clients had to navigate to. When the offer was inserted in the final purchasing page Isango found the process to be 50% more effective than the tab alone. Isango also evaluated the results from the post purchase emails containing targeted messages. The messages were targeted using information such as gender, location, destination, class of travel, etc. The expectation was that the effectiveness would be higher due to the targeting, but Isango were astounded to find that this was 20 times more effective than offers inserted at time of purchase. Amazingly, it was 30 times as effective as the web page tab. Mark Scott, CEO at securiDOX says, “This is something we have suspected all along, but as we have concentrated on perfecting delivery of the documents, we haven’t had the evidence to prove our beliefs. We are pleased this research supports our theory that dynamically targeted messages placed after purchasedramatically increase ancillary revenue.” Daniele Beccari, Vice President of Isango says, “securiDOX’s solution enables us to deliver more relevant messages to passengers when they are looking to complete their travel arrangements. At time of purchase a traveler is not receptive to being bombarded with additional offers, but will consider offers post purchase. By delivering the right message to the eTicket confirmation or boarding pass, the traveler can review at leisure without the pressure to complete a transaction. The purchase path has become more crowded with the result that customers escape the website to avoid bombardment and inadvertent offer selection”. Mark Scott continues “Messages inserted in boarding passes are a must have and a great value proposition. Boarding passes and the inserted messages are viewed and reinforced up to 12 times before the end of the flight through printing, gate check, baggage drop, at the retail outlets, the departure gate and on board. The document remains live even after the flight is completed with vouchers being removed and kept for subsequent use.” Isango is a destination tours and service specialist company. Advertising on web pages such as Qantas Airways, Isango aims to deliver passengers with exciting and colorful experiences in over 50 countries. securiDOX supplies airlines with a solution that uses dynamic information to create tailored documents such as E-ticket confirmations, Mobile and Printed Boarding Passes and reminder emails. securiDOX delivers QR codes to enhance onboard sales |
London, 1 November 2011 |
Airline passengers will soon be able print their boarding pass, scan, check-in, board and also buy duty free goods, when Quick Response codes (QR) start appearing on their custom delivered boarding passes. QR scanning apps are now widely available for mobile devices as they facilitate the ease of transfer from the printed document to a web page which can provide comprehensive product information. They are a huge success in the Far East, especially Japan and South Korea and now leading retailers, are using them to enhance promotional offers. When asked about the QR delivery, Mark Scott CEO of securiDOX said, “ID is essential, but a boarding pass is the one piece of paper that every passenger must have to travel. We can add passenger specific QR codes to each passengers boarding pass, so that the mobile traveller can then scan it for pre-flight offers. We have explored and developed the idea with Ivor Smith of dutyfreeonarrival.com who has secured QR codes and duty free web page data for every world airline. The securiDOX dynamic targeting ability allows delivery of appropriate product based on the passenger profile in the relevant language” Mark Scott added, “The hidden benefit of these codes is that they can be targeted to a specific offer, and detailed analytics can be collected from each user. The facility can also be linked to a passenger’s Loyalty account. The real benefit is that the passenger starts thinking how to ‘buy-onboard’ for collection on arrival, before he arrives at the airport. This improves passenger experience and saves the airline fuel previously required to carry the goods.” |

London, 28 October 2011 |
securiDOX welcomes Richard Stokes who, until recently, was the Head of Passenger Transport Solutions at SITA. Stokes joins securiDOX as a Non Executive Director – Airlines, where he will be responsible for developing services to airline and related industries Stokes says “I always liked the securiDOX platform from the first moment I was introduced to it while working at SITA. It is a quick, non intrusive way of addressing airlines requirements for ancillary revenue customer experience and branding”. In addition, “it is largely manageable by airlines themselves without reference back to the Reservation Systems provider or technical resources at securiDOX. The ancillary revenue possibilities can in some cases easily cover the cost of airline reservation and departure systems on a PAX basis”. He especially enjoys the fast moving nature of the securiDOX platform that allows customers to implement the systems within a very short time frame - within 2 months if the customers are working to a short time frame. Stokes continues, “It will enhance SITA, Amadeus or any other, Reservation and Check In systems and can be swapped to service different output streams within a matter of days. I particularly like the way existing customers are taking up additional solutions like mobile boarding passes, reminder emails and passenger alerts.” Mark Scott, securiDOX CEO, says “It is fantastic to be working with Richard to deliver ancillary revenue generating solutions to airlines of all sizes”. Scott continues “I appreciate Richard’s vision and the additional customer insights that Richard gained in his 10 years at SITA. Richard will help to guide securiDOX with a renewed marketing program for making further improvements. His undoubted contacts within the airline industry will enable us to approach prospects at the right level and, together with current customers, prove the undoubted benefits to new users” |

London, 16 February 2011 |

CityJet have recently launched a new system of follow-up passenger emails utilising technology supplied by securiDOX, the document delivery specialists. securiDOX already provide the interface for CityJet to email booking confirmations to their passengers – and data from the booking process can now be used to provide further information to the customer via email. Mark Scott, securiDOX’s CEO, explains how one successful system led to the development of this new service “CityJet were already using our system to provide booking confirmations by email and were really pleased with the professional look of the communications and the brand reinforcement they afforded. When CityJet wanted to produce additional email communication to encourage passengers to use the online check-in as well as bringing people back to their website, they naturally turned to us.” |

Comet delivers 11 millionth document via securiDOX |
London, 11 January 2011 |

The successful working relationship between securiDOX and Comet passed a new milestone this month – Comet dispatched the 11 millionth document using securiDOX’s document creation and delivery system. The securiDOX system was initially implemented to eliminate the cost of printing and mailing receipts to customers who made online purchases, by supplying e-confirmations of transactions. But the system has a great deal more to offer than this. In particular, it’s unique Manage&Control™ feature, which – as the name suggests – provides Comet with absolute control over the documentation produced and supplies a wide range of user information and functionality. The Manage&Control™ interface allows the Comet marketing team to manage all aspects of the delivered documentation without referral to the IT department or securiDOX’s support group. Seasonal messages can immediately be incorporated into the accompanying email and changes to the layouts quickly and easily completed. Messages relating to special offers, great deals, customer assistance and product hints can easily be compiled and delivered at the same time as the original confirmation for no additional cost and added customer convenience. Manage&Control™ not only controls the content of the document but also records all aspects of the document and activity surrounding it - not just values and quantities. Other items recorded and reported on in real time include the time the document was created and time of printing, which messages are clicked on, when and how often. Lost documents can be resent in seconds by the eCommerce team or accounts department saving time and money. Documents are secure and compliant with VAT regulations, meaning additional manually-produced VAT documents are a thing of the past. Mark Scott, CEO of securiDOX said “the versatility of the system offers great advantages to our clients. By being able to control all aspects of the document delivery, clients are able to use the system to do exactly what they need it to. That Comet has used the system to deliver over 11 million documents shows just how successful it is!” |

In order to enhance the travel experience to passengers as well as cut time and costs at checkin, a large Australasian airline has signed a contract with securiDOX to provide enhanced 'print-at-home' boarding passes and boarding passes delivered to mobile devices. These initiatives are part of the airline’s Next Generation Check-in project and are expected to be delivered early in 2011 and precede a number of further passenger satisfying initiatives. The implementation is targeted to deliver better passenger communications and over-all satisfaction as outlined in late 2009. securiDOX’s solution plays an important role in delivering those objectives and is included in the airline’s future plans. During the evaluation period, securiDOX proved not only their product capabilities but also their flexibility, professionalism and innovation. Through out the selection and the rigorous vetting process, securiDOX was able to demonstrate the effectiveness of their iconfirm™ solution both on a technical level as well as the possibility of revenue generation capabilities. The mobile check-in project has involved integration with and reception of data from the Amadeus Altéa platform and was accomplished seamlessly using iconfim™'s advanced interfacing capabilities. In these difficult economic times costs are an important factor which can’t be ignored. The airline will implement a solution that ensures a superior passenger experience through the quality of documentation and the mobile check-in option while being able to capitalize on the ability to deliver all the documents and services from a single engine. Whilst not covered by the agreement, the solution can also be applied to eTicket Confirmations at a future date. Mark Scott, Director at securiDOX commented “The airline’s procedures showed that securiDOX was right on top of its game. We were able to prove, in the face of some very tough competition,n how we could comply with the company’s demand to delight their passengers and provide the future services that are sure to spin off from the Next Generation Project.” |

securiDOX, the document delivery specialists, are supplying new style eTicket confirmations via email to passengers booking with CityJet. The airline, part of the Air France/KLM group and operating the largest number of flights to and from London’s City Airport, required a new system that could provide the high-standard documentation their demanding and discerning customers expect. Mark Scott, CEO of securiDOX comments “eTicket confirmations are the end of the booking process and traditionally are an after-thought with little regard for corporate image and branding, yet are the first document passengers receives from the airline. CityJet improved their reservation system and wanted a way to better address their many loyal and busy customers so chose securiDOX.” The booking confirmation delivery system integrates with the airline’s Amadeus Altea system. It takes data from both online bookings and call centre reservation systems, processing, creating and delivering documents immediately. The system has been thoroughly tested in both the aero and eCommerce environments, and to-date has delivered over 12 million perfect, uniform confirmations. The securiDOX system includes the Manage&Control feature which allows CityJet to administer the content of their confirmation template directly. securiDOX Technical Director Ravi Ramamrutham explains how it works: “securiDOX developed the initial template using materials supplied by CityJet. Once this was agreed, CityJet are able to access the template via secure online log-in and make any changes they need – at their convenience. This means the airline does not have to rely on an external IT resources to get changes implemented, and they can ensure that their passenger communication is consistent in style and content.” Gwen Robinson, Media Producer at CityJet noted “the vastly improved branding on our eTicket Confirmations coupled with the ability provided to generate revenue from targeted advertising and ease of use makes this a perfect solution for our needs as the airline grows.” |

securiDOX today announced successful integration with the Amadeus Web services platform for the delivery of enhanced eTicket confirmations, web and mobile check-in and the delivery of enhanced ‘Print-at-Home’ and mobile boarding passes. As one of the world’s largest travel service providers, Amadeus services over 500 airlines which can now use securiDOX’s systems to control and enhance their passenger communications. They can provide more off-airport check-in options and crucially, generate substantial additional revenue by using the targeted advertising possibilities of securiDOX’s platform. On successful completion of the project, Ravi Ramarutham, Technical Director of securiDOX commented - “Integration of our platform has opened a number of exciting possibilities for our airline partners. Moreover, now that this integration has been completed, implementation times will be even shorter, ensuring that airlines and their customers start receiving the benefits of our systems even earlier. This is a key milestone in our efforts to hand control of the passenger documents to marketing personnel at an airline - separating the technology from the content - the hallmark of our platform.” securiDOX has been providing enhanced passenger and customer communications to the travel and eCommerce industry for over six years. The base systems which handle worldwide sales and flight departures are state of the art and are designed to handle huge volumes of transactions. “The focus of these systems is immediate processing of reservations and check-ins with little regard for the document output - which is the first thing the passenger receives. At this point the technology matters are completed but issues of branding, corporate image, passenger contact, etc have just started” adds Mark Scott, securiDOX’s CEO. Scott continues, “All documents delivered are obligatory by the regulatory authorities so provide an opportunity to enhance the passenger experience, streamline and simplify airline procedures as well as generate significant revenue without incurring additional costs!” |

VLM "staff alerts" integrates Internet and SMS |
London, 20 July 2009 |
|
securiDOX have launched a new system which helps VLM Airlines continue to provide a first rate customer service – by ensuring staff have critical information at their fingertips on the move or at their computers. VLM have a wide-range of messages to communicate to staff: run-of-the-mill operations (eg staff meetings), informative (eg. adverse weather conditions), or requiring immediate action (eg. broken down luggage carousel, delayed aircraft). The problem is that many critical staff are mobile not only within the airport but also between airports. VLM needed to alert their staff in a way that was secure, discreet and that they could be confident of delivery. securiDOX developed a system which allows VLM users to message staff from and too both desktop computers and to mobile phones. Mobile phones are the essential communication tool but not designed for multi voice communication. If the staff member is on another call, messages can be left but often missed. Messages sent to mobile phones can be read quickly whilst handling other matters and actioned at the convenience of the recipient. Messages are sent via a PC interface, which also records historical messages and user/ recipient information. For additional convenience, alerts can also be sent from mobile telephones. The system is easy to use and particularly straightforward to implement in that it employs existing hardware – everybody has a mobile telephone. Recipients are organised into meaningful groups (eg sectors, shifts, management levels) so that messages are only sent to the most relevant recipients – for example, ‘control system down at departure gate 10' message is sent to gate staff and gate manager. All groups and messages are managed by the users of the system. securiDOX Technical Director Ravi Ramamrutham explains how VLM use the system: “The interface we created for VLM is clear and straightforward and based on systems we had developed for mobile phone boarding passes. Users compose their message then select either individuals or groups to send the alert to. The same interface also allows users to add recipients, create and manage groups, and view sent messages. The user portal is clearly branded with VLM logo and sits neatly alongside other VLM online functions." |

securiDOX launch check-in by SMS |
London, 10 February 2009 |
|
Today securiDOX, which is already supplying a range of secure electronic document delivery options to the airline industry, launched an exciting new feature. With the launch of 2-way messaging, it is now possible for airlines to easily implement a check-in by SMS facility for their passengers. The innovative process offers the airline a simple solution with maximum control. It begins with the securiDOX system automatically messaging passengers informing them that their flight is ready for check-in. All the passenger has to do is to reply to this message with an appropriate message for the check-in request to be processed and their boarding passes delivered to their mobile devices. Passengers receiving the service can be pre-selected by the airline according to suitable criteria, opt-in at time of booking or by preference setting in the frequent flyer program. The airline has the option to reverse charge the recipient for messages sent in order to cover additional costs provided by flexibility and additional services delivered. The level of charge per SMS is at the full control of the airline. Interfacing with the airline Departure Control System can be accomplished by the airline’s existing provider or by using the securiDOX’s services via web services. This process enables follow up messages to be delivered. Follow-up messages offer opportunities for improving the customer experience with targeted information, as well as providing enhanced advertising possibilities in all phones but particularly modern large display models. Mark Scott, CEO of securiDOX comments “2-way messaging is very exciting for applications like check-in by SMS because it moves the whole process away from the airport or the desktop. securiDOX now makes it possible for a passenger to be able to check-in to their flight while on their way to the airport - a time when they are focused on their flight. If you add this to the capability of the system to follow up with highly targeted messages to the passenger, it forms a compelling solution for the airline and great convenience for the passenger."

Comet: 6 million documents delivered … and counting |
London, 01 October 2008 |

Whatever time of day or night customers order from the Comet website, they will immediately receive confirmation of their purchase with clearly branded, easy to read emailed receipts – supplied by securiDOX, the document delivery specialists. Comet have recently dispatched their 6 millionth document. When Comet launched online purchasing, customer receipts were printed and mailed out. Since it’s implementation, the system from securiDOX has saved incalculable staff time and postage costs for Comet. It is more convenient for customers too – the emailed confirmations can be saved on to personal computers, where they can easily be printed out or retrieved for future use. The requirements of business customers are also addressed, as the receipts are fully compliant with VAT regulations. Previously VAT invoices were created and delivered by hand after a request was received from the customer. Design and dispatch of the emailed confirmations is all handled directly by Comet marketing personnel – without recourse to IT departments or the securiDOX team. This is achieved through securiDOX’s sophisticated client portal, Manage&Control™. The Manage&Control™ interface allows the marketing and commercial staff to control the timing and content of the emailed documents, inserting useful information (such as setting up new equipment, decommissioning old equipment) as well as timely messages (for example, seasonal information, sales notices). Ravi Ramamrutham, securiDOX’s Technical Director explains “the Manage&Control™ interface makes the securiDOX system a really viable cost-cutting option for our clients. Users have an efficient process for disseminating a range of information to customers via one message and the per-message cost is effectively zero. As Comet staff are able to manage all aspects of the documents in-house, they do not need to spend additional funds on external agencies.” “Comet continue to make the savings they originally looked to make with the implementation of the system but have noticed a correlation of increases in sales of products where promotions have been included in the documents delivered. Manage&Control™’s reporting function is adding to Comet’s insight of data from immediate analysis of data - be it volumes of items or an interesting trend of white goods being purchased on line in the early hours of the morning!!" adds Mark Scott, securiDOX’s CEO. |

SITA and securiDOX in strategic alliance to deliver eTicket confirmations |
London, 12 August 2008 |
|
securiDOX today announced a strategic alliance with SITA to deliver iconfirm™ – its’ eTicket notification delivery solution to airlines worldwide. iconfirm™ is a unique patent-pending solution that can integrate with SITA reservation or departure systems to deliver enhanced eTicket Notifications and Boarding Pass documents in printable or mobile phone format. Most airlines have opted to deliver eTicket notices as either text-only or HTML emails. Text only confirmations force airlines to compromise completely on brand integrity, while at the same time providing passengers with a less than satisfactory user experience. HTML mail, while appearing to address the problem, introduces a raft of security, layout and printing issues. Airlines implementing securiDOX’s system have universally opted for PDF documents although other formats are as easily implemented. By delivering notices as PDF files, airlines ensure that passengers receive a fully branded, secure document which prints perfectly on any printer. Moreover using Manage&Control™ – securiDOX’s proprietary advertising management tool - finely targeted cross-selling, promotional or third party messages can be inserted into the eTicket confirmation, Print-at-Home or mobile boarding passes. Manage&Control™ means that professional communication with passengers is no longer the preserve of large airlines. The template driven system combined with user-defined advertising rules means that the control of the layout and content of eTicket Notifications reverts to where it belongs – internal departments without any external IT resources required. Mark Scott, CEO of securiDOX says “Airlines are now enabled to deliver quality documentation to passengers that are secure, self-contained and provides outstanding revenue generation opportunities without compromising brand integrity” Ravi Ramamrutham, Technical Director adds “By delivering the documents as PDF files, we are able to overcome the lack of consistency with which different browsers, computers and printers print web-pages. Moreover, the document is self-contained so that it can be viewed and printed without having to go online.” |

Mobile Phone delivery of passes and confirmations for Picnics |
London, 12 June 2008 |

Just Picnics is the first hospitality company to offer a service for ordering superior picnics on line for delivery to discerning customers at premium classical concerts around the United Kingdom. Regular summer concert goers know only too well how much effort goes into Alfresco entertaining. They have experienced the labours of preparing and cooking food in preparation for the event, carrying all the dishes and accoutrements from cars to the arena, returning the hampers back at the end of the concert and cleaning up containers and dishes in the evening or following morning. In providing the service, Just Picnics looked to streamline not only the ordering and delivery process but the collection procedure as well. “We wanted perfect confirmations, controlled inhouse to match the quality of our picnics which could be stored and printed the day before the concert or printed and delivered as secure gift vouchers” says Rhona McFarlane, Customer Experience Director at Just Picnics. “First impressions count and to enhance the customers enjoyment of the evening or other concert events, Special Offers can be included in the confirmation. iconfirm from securiDOX provided the perfect solution with a short implementation and low recurring cost” she adds. In keeping with the “no carrying” theme, Just Picnics utilized the delivery of Mobile Passes for picnics to customer’s mobile phones. By providing the facility to deliver perfectly sized images depending on mobile phone, Just Picnics is able to provide relevant vouchers for free samples and discounts at different venues. “The printed and mobile passes contain multidimensional barcodes which include all the information standard barcode readers need to authorize the collection of the sumptuous hampers with the minimum of fuss.” Ravi Ramamrutham Technical Director of securiDOX says. He continues, "In a standard format, the barcode contains all details of the hamper to be collected as well as security information, such as selected credit card details, to ensure that the picnic is delivered to the right party." Mark Scott CEO of securiDOX added “From our experience with both Aero and eCommerce industries we were able to accommodate the exacting requirements of Just Picnics.” |

securiDOX have today embarked on an exciting new business relationship with VLM Airlines Belgium NV to deliver enhanced eTicket confirmations. The system provided by securiDOX offers many unique advantages – as well, as improving the appearance and quality of the eTicket confirmations. The system gives marketing staff at VLM complete control over the design and content of all passenger documentation via securiDOX’s web based graphic Manage&Control™ interface. The system also has multilingual capabilities, meaning VLM is able to deliver documents in passengers’ preferred languages. Rony Timmermans, Executive Director of Finance & Commerce of VLM Airlines commented “Our online booking system worked well but we were not satisfied with the quality of the messages being delivered to the passenger. Central to the decision was the ability to deliver consistent documents from the internet and all centre booking systems. Historically, changing the content of the message would involve reverting to the suppliers with the attendant delays and costs. The opportunity to include targeted advertising on the eTicket confirmations will also allow us to generate revenue from what has historically been a cost aspect of our service.” Mark Scott CEO at securiDOX remarks “ Manage&Control™ will enable VLM staff, subject to relevant authorisation levels, to modify templates within the organisation to ensure consistency of corporate image and make seasonal changes/offers without the necessity of using external resources..” Ravi Ramamrutham, Technical Director at securiDOX said “We have been delivering documentation for flight confirmations for a while now but working with VLM gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our ability to integrate our product not only with online booking systems but also with call centre reservation systems and departure control systems.” |

securiDOX unveils Manage&Control™ Version 2 |
London, 17 January 2008 |
|
securiDOX, the online secure document delivery specialists have released version 2 of Manage&Control™, their proprietary Content and Advertising Management System which enables non-technical personnel to control the layout and content of documents being delivered. In addition to document templates, users can define detailed rules using ‘drop-down’ menus to customize the advertising message for each document. Manage&Control™ is composed of Template, Ad and Usage Manager modules Template Manager: The Template Manager allows users to define and manage templates that control document layout and content. Templates can be easily modified at any time with respect to content, layout and image change. Each document is then sourced from any one of multiple templates with the appropriate one being selected based on rules which can be defined and changed at any time. In defining templates, two special field types control the placement of advertising and barcode images. The rules that determine the selection and placement of advertising are set-up in the Advertising Manager. All IATA standard barcodes are supported. Ad Manager: The Ad Manager defines sophisticated rules to determine which advertising images with their corresponding links will be inserted into each document. Once a rule has been defined, images and links are uploaded for each outcome of the logic flow. Each template and each of its advertising ‘slots’ can have as many advertising rules as required. These can be amended or extended at any time by marketing or other non-technical personnel. Multiple rules allow for very finely targeted advertising placement. Advertising images, links and rules can be changed at any time based on current promotions and/or third party sales. Usage Manager: The Usage Manager provides a log of every document delivered by the system and allows convenient access to usage numbers and archived documents. In addition, Usage Manager also provides detailed reports on ‘click-throughs’ on embedded links in the documents, tracking the time of delivery, the time of click-through and the unique identity of the document allowing for detailed audit of advertising effectiveness. “Version 2 enhancements came about from our experience from projects and requests from customers to provide information not available from other systems. Now it is also even easier to optimize and report on the targeting of marketing messages.” commented Mark Scott CEO of securiDOX Ltd. |

Smith adds, “within 2/3 years, all these airport sales can and will be conducted over the internet and delivered on arrival at the airport or even directly to your home or hotel. They can easily be pre-ordered online, just as you would from Amazon or Ebay. With QR codes and MVS (mobile visual search) coming soon, there is certainly no need for this battle between the EU Commission, airports and LCC’s. To best enhance sales, Brussels should be looking at innovation, not prohibition”!
